Students Get Down to Business
Thursday, February 11, 2010
Students recently took part in the Young Enterprise Northern Ireland ‘Project Business’ programme. Supported by the Department of Education Northern Ireland, the programme gives students a practical, activity-based insight into enterprise and business, helping them develop their business and economic understanding, as well as personal financial capability. Jill Nesbit from Young Enterprise led the workshops to enable the students to explore a range of business concepts, including the role of the consumer, supply and demand, the market economy, and savings and investments. During the session, students took part in interactive games and role-plays, based on share trading and a mini-company. In addition to learning about business, they also got the opportunity to develop their skills in the areas of communication, teamwork, problem-solving and decision-making.
