St Benedict's College, Randalstown

Open Night Success

St Benedict’s College Open Night was held on Thursday 17th January 2019. It was an extremely successful evening with large numbers of P6 and P7 pupils and their families taking the time to visit us to find out more about our school. We were delighted to welcome everyone as we celebrated the skills, talents and capabilities of our wonderful students.

We were thrilled to see our young visitors engaging so positively in all the activities on offer. We hope everyone had the opportunity to get physical in PE, view skin cells in Science, sample the cooking in Home Economics, get “hands on” in Art, enjoy problem solving in Maths, become detectives in History, find out more about other cultures in Languages and be entertained by our traditional musicians and choir. The school tour also provided an excellent opportunity for parents/guardians to meet our staff who were more than happy to give them an insight in to their individual subject areas.

We hope that everyone found the evening informative and fun and all who attended gained an insight in to the excellence on offer, pastorally and academically, in St Benedict’s.

Open Night would not be a success without positive input and support from parents, students and staff. The College would like to say a huge thank you to all of the department volunteers and guides who gave of their time to showcase our wonderful school. We would like to pay tribute to Mia Mc Erlane, Year 8, past pupil of St Oliver Plunkett Primary School and to Dean Millar, our Former Head Boy, who is now attending St Louis Grammar School. Both young people delivered powerful testimonies describing their positive experiences of St Benedict’s and were terrific ambassadors for the school. We thank too, our Governors and our staff, teaching and support staff, who worked tirelessly to ensure that Open Night was a positive and memorable occasion for all.

Finally may we take this opportunity to wish all P7 pupils and parents continued happiness and success as they take the next steps on their educational journey.
